Zhao Gang, Deputy Secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and Governor, Yang Guanjun, Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and former Party Secretary of the Northwest Institute of Nonferrous Metals, Ye Niuping, Deputy Secretary of the Xi'an Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, Zhou Lian, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Honorary President of the Northwest Institute of Nonferrous Metals; Xue Qunji, He Jilin, Sun Chuanyao, Zhang Shengyong, Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zheng Xiaojing, Wei Bingbo, Huang Wei and other 96 academicians of the two academies attended the opening ceremony of the conference. Zhao Gang, Zhou Lian and Xue Qunji delivered speeches at the conference respectively, and Zhang Pingxiang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of the Northwest Institute of Nonferrous Metals, presided over the opening ceremony of the conference.

In his speech, Zhao Gang pointed out that since the 18th CPC National Congress, Shaanxi Province has focused on leveraging its innovation advantages, promoting the deep integration of scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation, and accelerating the pace of building a strong province in science and technology.
